NPFMC - The North Pacific Fishery Management Council (NPFMC) is one of eight regional councils established by the Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act in 1976 (which has been renamed the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act)
NMFS - The Alaska Region of NOAA Fisheries oversees sustainable fisheries that produce about half the fish caught in US waters, with responsibilities covering 842,000 square nautical miles off Alaska.

UFA - To promote and protect the common interest of Alaska's commercial fishing industry, as a vital component of Alaska's social and economic well-being.
ASMI - Effective, precise management assures Alaska’s fisheries are productive, sustainable, clean, and healthy-as mandated by the Alaska state government. Since admittance into the Union as the 49th state in 1959, Alaska has served as a model of fisheries management around the globe. One reason for this is that Alaska remains the lone state in the nation with a constitutional mandate stipulating all fish "be utilized, developed and maintained on the sustained yield principle."

CAMF - Concerned Area M Fishermen (CAMF), salmon drift gillnetters from local Alaskan Peninsula communities, other communities across Alaska and elsewhere in the United States, have been working since 1984 to preserve the historical fisheries of the Alaska Peninsula. We work within the State of Alaska Board of Fisheries process. We rely primarily on research produced internally and by other internationally recognized institutions. We put a lot of effort into bringing this information constructively into regulatory forums.
